Batwoman TV Series In The Works For The CW

Batwoman’s arrival to the Arrowverse won’t just be for the CW crossover: she is possibly getting her TV own show! It was revealed today that Greg Berlanti and Caroline Dries (Smallville, The Vampire Diaries) are developing a spin-off series based on Kate Kane for The CW. According to Deadline, casting is about to happen for the character, leading up for the crossover.
The show will also be executive produced by Sarah Schechter, of Berlanti Productions, as well as Geoff Johns. While it is definitely clear that Batwoman will be part of the Arrowverse, it still remains to be seen if the Kate we will meet is from Earth-1 or any other Earth in the Arrowverse Multiverse. Here is how WB is describing the Batwoman series:

“Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope. Based on the characters from DC.”
