On Thursday Marvel Animation presented a panel on Marvel Rising, the multiplatform TV, comic, and film series featuring some fan-favorite characters.
At the panel were voice actors Milana Vayntrub (Squirrel Girl/Doreen Green), Kamil McFadden (Patriot), Kathreen Khavari (Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan), Dove Cameron (Spider-Gwen/Ghost-Spier), and Chloe Bennet (Quake).
Also in attendance were writer Mairghread Scott (Writer, Marvel Rising), Sana Amanat (VP, Content and Character Development) and Cort Lane (SVP, Animation and Family Entertainment).
Speaking to why the series was created, Lane said, “There was clearly this need. We had lots of conversations with girls and they were dying for this.”
The versions of the characters in the show will draw from their existing portrayals but vary slightly. Quake will be a teenager in the show, younger than her Agents of SHIELD counterpart.
As to Quake’s relationship with Ghost-Spider, Bennet added, “It’s completely — well, it’s not totally… It’s not Ruby and Daisy.”
Attendees were treated to two of the shorts.
For now, check out this newly released clip. In the clip, we see Will Squirrel Girl & Ms. Marvel team up to take on Ghost Spider (AKA Spider-Gwen).
