With Season 2 of Iron Fist premiering soon, you may be wondering about Alice Eve’s mysterious new character Mary Walker, AKA Typhoid Mary.
While we don’t know exactly what her relationship to Danny Rand will be in the show, Netflix has released clips of the two characters fighting. Is it possible though that Mary is both friend and foe to Danny?
In the comics, Mary Walker suffers from dissociative identity disorder, leading to her three identities: the timid Mary, the violent “Typhoid Mary,” and the sadistic killer “Bloody Mary.”
A comic book villain that has faced off against several Marvel heroes, Typhoid Mary was created by Ann Nocenti and John Romita, Jr. She first appeared in the comics as an enemy and former lover of Daredevil and worked for Wilson Fisk, so it’s interesting that they’ve chosen her to appear in the Iron Fist series.
Mary has psionic powers, including telekinesis, and is a skilled fighter and assassin.
Mary won’t be the only villain competing for Danny’s attention though. Season 1 villain Davos (Sacha Dhawan) returns to the show as the Steel Serpent.
Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 stars Finn Jones (Danny Rand), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Sacha Dhawan (Davos), Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum), Jessica Stroup (Joy Meachum), Simone Missick (Misty Knight) and introduces Alice Eve (Mary Walker).
Season 2 of Iron Fist streams on Netflix on September 7.
