While we aren’t even into February yet, ABC and Marvel TV is already wanting to get you ready for the return of their spy-drama Agents of SHIELD that will air its sixth season in the summer. In a surprise move, the network released the first look at Season 6 of the series as it teases the upcoming installment of the long-running Marvel series.
But the biggest takeaway from the trailer is what it teases for the show’s main character Phil Coulson. After the end of Season 5, it looked like Coulson had officially passed away and while the trailer makes it look like he is gone…have we seen the last of Agent Coulson? Little is known about Season 6 as of right now other than that it will be followed by a seventh season that will air in 2020 as ABC renewed the show early. In addition to that, Anthony Michael Hall is slated for a guest appearance as an unknown character in the new season.
Agents of SHIELD, starring Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May, Chloe Bennet Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons Alphonso Mack Mackenzie, Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Yo-Yo Rodriguez and Jeff Ward and Deke Shaw, premieres its sixth season sometime in July on ABC.
