Last year, it was confirmed that Sony Pictures was officially putting a Venom sequel into development. Now we have some more news on that front!
Kelly Marcel, who worked on the first movie as a co-writer, is set to return to write the sequel, as per Variety. While no release date has been set, it looks like the studio is looking to get this sequel out to the world sooner rather than later.
According to the trade, the studio is looking to hire a new director for the sequel rather than bring Reuben Fleischer back to helm it again. Variety also reports that along with Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson are basically set to reprise their roles.
One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.”
Ruben Fleischer’s Venom, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Riz Ahmed as Dr. Carlton Drake, Jenny Slate, Reid Scott, Scott Haze, Woody Harrelson, Sope Aluko, and Scott Deckert, is now available for purchase on Digital Download and Blu-Ray/DVD.
