According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter and multiple outlets, actress Angelina Jolie is in talks to join Marvel’s upcoming film The Eternals.
Chloe Zhao, an award-winning director behind 2018’s The Rider will direct.
Writers Matthew and Ryan Firpo, whose spec script Ruin was at the top of the 2017 Black List, will write the script.
The Eternals, created by Jack Kirby in the 1970s, are a part of Marvel’s cosmic universe and a race of superheroes created by the Celestials to defend the Earth. It’s rumored Jolie could be playing the role of Sersi, a member of the Eternals.
Jolie’s next role will be in the sequel to Disney’s Malificent, due out in 2019.
