Rachel Weisz and David Harbour in Talks to Join Black Widow Movie

Variety reported today that Oscar-nominated actress Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) is in talks to join the upcoming Black Widow standalone movie.

The same report also states David Harbour (Stranger Things, Hellboy) could also be joining the Scarlett Johansson-fronted film.

Neither actor is a stranger to comic book adaptations, with Harbour starring in the upcoming Hellboy reboot and Rachel Weisz having appeared in the 2005 Constantine film.

This news comes several weeks after it was revealed breakout star Florence Pugh (Fighting With My Family, Outlaw King) would be joining the film.

Plot details are being kept under wraps about the film, and no roles have been confirmed beyond that of Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Black Widow.

However, we do know the film will be directed by Australian director Cate Shortland. Screenwriter Ned Benson was hired by Marvel to rewrite the script after a previous draft from Jac Schaeffer.

There is no release date set.

Black Widow will make her next appearance in Avengers: Endgame, out in theaters April 26.
