On this latest episode of DC TV Podcasts’ newest podcast, dedicated to the upcoming DC Universe series from executive producer Geoff Johns, your hosts Angie Dahl and Lizzie Sáenz do a deep dive into discussing our girl, Stargirl herself, Courtney Whitmore.
The ladies also discuss the rest of Courtney’s family, including her stepdad, Pat Dugan aka STRIPE, a character that will also be featured prominently in the upcoming DC Universe show. To do this, Angie and Lizzie turned to the 1999 Stars and STRIPE comics by Geoff Johns as well as stories from Justice Society of America (2007) and JSA All-Stars (2010). If that wasn’t enough, they also discuss previous incarnations of Stargirl/Courtney so far in television.
LOGLINE: STARGIRL follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions and Berlanti Productions.
