It appears that Marvel TV’s upcoming slate is getting a change of plans. Deadline Hollywood revealed today that due to creative differences, the previously announced Ghost Rider series with Gabriel Luna is not moving forward on the streaming service.
Due to the creative clash, it caused Hulu to pull the plug on the Robbie Reyes drama that would feature Luna reprising his Agents of SHIELD character. Per the trade, the Helstorm show, from executive producer/writer Paul Zbyszewski, is still going forward.
It has yet to be determined whether or not Marvel TV will shop the show around to other platforms. Helstorm, which will tell the tale of Daimon and Ana Helstrom, the children of a mysterious and powerful serial killer, is still aiming for a 2020 debut. Hulu is also working on several animated Marvel shows for M.O.D.O.K, Hit-Monkey, Tigra & Dazzler, Howard The Duck that would all lead into the mini-series The Offenders.
“Marvel’s Ghost Rider” centers on Robbie Reyes, the quintessential antihero, who lives on the Texas/Mexico border, consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon. When he unleashes the Rider, Robbie brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters, but struggles controlling the power he wields.”
