Jeph Loeb To Step Down As President of Marvel TV

Following the news that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige would oversee multiple divisions of Marvel, including TV, today’s news is no surprise: The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb is set to step down as president. Per the trade, the departure was already being planned by Loeb prior to the announcement of Feige’s promotion as Chief Creative Officer.

According to the report, Loeb is eying to announce his departure around Thanksgiving. The long-time writer/producer has been part of Marvel TV’s inception helping develop live-action and animated properties on ABC, Netflix, Hulu, and Disney XD. Since June 2010, Loeb has been involved with shows such as Agents of SHIELD, The Defenders franchise, Runaways, Avengers Assemble, Ultimate Spider-Man, and many more titles.

It still remains a mystery about what Feige’s direction is going to be for ongoing shows such as Runaways, Cloak and Dagger (which has yet to be renewed for Season 3), Helstrom, and The Offenders animated shows. Whether or not Feige’s promotion means that there will be more connectivity between the TV shows and the larger MCU has yet to be answered.

While The Hollywood Reporter stated that Loeb has been working on a “transistion” plan, no specified details were given on his future post-Marvel TV. Loeb may unveil what his future plans are when he officially addresses his departure from the division.
