Alfred Molina is returning to the role of Doctor Octopus for the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.
Molina last graced screens as Doctor Octopus (Otto Octavius) in Spider-Man 2 (2004). He joins Jamie Foxx’s Electro as another confirmed villain from previous Spider-Man iterations to join the film.
The untitled sequel is currently filming and slated for theatrical release on December 17, 2021.
Rumors are swirling about who else from the franchise’s film history may be joining the sequel, but Marvel and Sony have not commented.
Also appearing in the film is Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, whose presence could explain the film’s anticipated dip into the multiverse.
Is it too late to put in our request for Miles Morales and Peter B. Parker to appear?
