In a surprising turn, Marvel announced today that Black Widow will be made available on Disney+ Premier Access on the same day it premieres in theaters. The film will now release on July 9, 2021, pushing it back two months from its previously announced release date.
Although a price has not yet been announced for the film, recent Disney+ Premier Access prices have been $29.99. This option is only available with a Disney+ subscription.
The film, which takes place before the events of Avengers: Endgame, stars Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff. Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow also features Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff.
