Sony’s ‘Kraven The Hunter’ Adds Russell Crowe in Unknown Role

Russell Crowe is joining the cast of Sony’s upcoming Marvel movie Kraven The Hunter as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The J.C. Chandor directed film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the titular role of the notorious antihero and Spider-Man antagonist. It is unknown what role Crowe will portray, but it has been earlier reported that other main characters in the film will be members of Kraven’s family. Written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk, not much else is known about the film other than its January 13, 2023 release date.

This isn’t Crowe’s first venture into the Marvel multiverse, as he is set to portray the Olympian god Zeus in the Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love And Thunder this summer alongside Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman. Crowe is also directing and starring in the film Poker Face alongside Liam Hemsworth and RZA.

Alongside Kraven, Sony is continuing to develop its “Sony Universe of Marvel Characters” including the soon-to-be-released Morbius starring Jared Leto and the Dakota Johnson-led Madame Web film. At this time it is unknown if this film will be connected to the Venom films or other related Marvel films.
