Cobra Kai Season 6 – Part 3 Review: A Grand Finale

Concluding a television show is no small feat, and thankfully I can Cobra Kai nailed their ending. It had everything, emotion, karate, and conclusions for characters that made sense. Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3 delivers on so many things that us fans expect, with some surprises along the way. The final 5 episodes ever of Cobra Kai is here, and what a way to wrap up this beloved series.

Team Miyagi-Do In The Sekai Taikai

The final 3 episodes alone was worth the wait for the final batch that is now on Netflix. Episodes 11 and 12 were the calm before the storm. Even as a massive Cobra Kai fan, I wasn’t prepared for what was happening. Some of the best fights in the series and emotional moments with characters made the journey watching worth while. The Sekai Taikai continuing was inevitable, but the way we get to that point was thought out and made sense. Every second one of the fights was going down, I was on the edge of my seat. The action is always top notch, and they don’t disappoint here. At some point you would think the fights would becoming boring, or feel not fresh. It never got to that point for me.

This season not only is wrapping up and concluding story lines set up during this season, but also the entire show. Ending a show is never easy, and thankfully Cobra Kai got to end it on their own terms. I do have some nitpicks as certain characters have a quick wrap up before moving on to another one. We also had characters who have a bigger send off from the series. I wish it was more balanced in that sense. I understand this show is really about Johnny and his journey. With that said, this show gave us some amazing characters, and wish they got more of a opportunity to shine in Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3.

Master Kim and Sensai Kreese from Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3

Master Kim and Sensai Kreese from Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3

Maybe the most surprising part about these last batch of episodes is Kreese. The true villain of the franchise, but that role has been overtaken as Silver over time. Kreese has some self reflection, which is surprising, but also refreshing. There are some truly deep scenes with his character, and I won’t spoil anything here. All I will say is this is truly special what they did with his character as you look at the entire run of this franchise. I can’t wait to re watch the show from the beginning, and see his journey again from beginning to the end of the series. A re watch is inevitable, I am sure I have missed more tie ins from the past in these final episodes.

As mentioned, Silver is back with more tricks and a revelation that I felt was coming. Once you learn this one piece of information, many questions get answered. Why is Silver doing this? What is his true motive behind all he has done? I wish it was explained more clearly, but I’m glad there was an answer. His dojo he is sponsoring, aka endorsing is fierce as ever. The Iron Dragons are not playing around as we continue the Sekai Taikai. Sensai Wolf played by Lewis Tan is always intimidating, and he does a few things in these last episodes that shocked me. I wish he was introduced sooner, he could be a true villain on his own without Silver.

The bond and relationship that Johnny and Daniel have went on is special. We see these former rivals over the course of six seasons come together like we never thought possible. Its a bumpy road, but these final episodes solidify they are brothers. Sure, they don’t always see eye to eye, but that is the point. At its core, this story is really about Johnny. You feel that hit hard in the opening scene of the final episode. I wasn’t expecting it, but it was emotional and shows how far Johnny has come. I honestly wanted these final episodes to last longer. We could easily have done more with these characters.

Thank you to everyone who worked on this show. Your passion, and time really shows while watching this series. Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3 concludes many story lines, and leaves a door open for whats ahead. The real question is will the upcoming film reference any of the events of the series? It would be a disservice if it didn’t. Cobra Kai continued to improve on its story lines and character development. I hate that its ended, but I’m glad I could experience it when it was still happening.
