Have you ever wanted to enjoy a cookout at Hank Hill’s house? I know I still do! Somehow those animated steaks look so delicious. I think I’m a sucker for the grill lines.
Starting July 24, 2025, “King of the Hill” fans attending San Diego Comic-Con will have the opportunity to visit Hulu’s activation honoring the upcoming 10-episode “King of the Hill” Revival series, which airs August 4 on Hulu.
Guests will have the opportunity to visit Hank’s backyard for a Rainey St. cookout that includes BBQ bites served throughout the day, classic lawn games, themed photo ops, and a can of Alamo water. Yes, water.
The activation will be located next to the San Diego Convention Center, 600 Convention Way.’
Let’s talk about all the activities Hulu included in this “slice of Arlen life” attraction:
Alamo Pong
Play a few rounds of Alamo Pong for a chance to win a prize and claim the Alamo Pong Championship. And, don’t be afraid to stop for special photo opportunities with large-scale 2D cutouts of the show’s beloved characters.
Lawn Mower Photo Op
Roll into the Hill residence to check out Hank’s legendary Mason 1500 mower, give it a test drive, and get your photo with large-scale 2D cutouts of the Hill family.
Mega Lo Mart Customization Hat Station
You know the saying “when in Rome?” Well, when in Arlen, you go to the Mega Lo Mart for a trucker hat. Visit the Mega Lo Mart Customization Hat Station to customize a hat with patches unique to “King of the Hill.”
Water Tower
Stop by the Arlen Water Tower for a cold can of water in an Alamo-branded can. Keep it as a souvenir or pop it open for rehydration. I wonder if I can get two.
Rhinestein’s Cowboy Boot Toss
It’s like ring toss, but with boots? Head over to the Rhinestein’s Cowboy storefront for a fun twist on a classic cookout game. Guests will be given 2 pairs of oversized, animated-style boots. The goal of the game is to toss the open side of the boot over a stake in front of the store. Winners will receive prizes exclusive to the activation.
I plan on giving this a try, but my poor depth perception might make it impossible.
Backyard Cookout
End your tour of Arlen back at the Hill residence and enjoy the backyard cookout. Take advantage of the umbrellas and picnic tables, snack on Texas-inspired BBQ bites, play a few yard games, and take a pic with Dale’s Bugabago.
The fun kicks off on July 24 from 11:30 am to 7:00 pm and runs from July 25 to 26 from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm, and on July 27 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. Be sure to add this experience to your SDCC’25 schedule.
