Eerie. Chilling. Haunting. Ethereal.
Those are words that come to mind when watching the newest teaser for Marvel’s Jessica Jones that has been released on Youtube, which can be seen below.
This newest teaser gives us our first partial look at David Tennant’s Kilgrave, as well as some insight to how he’s mentally tormenting our titular hero. In the teaser, Jessica is seen posting photos onto a wall in her office in the middle of the night while Killgrave’s voice echoes in the background. “Jessica, I know your secrets. I know about your friends, about your gifts.”
Jessica leaves her office and slams the door on the way out. The camera cuts back to the wall of photographs that compose a loose interpretation of a human face that slowly transforms into Kilgrave’s. The teaser ends with Kilgrave’s face on the wall and his final and most haunting line: “I know everything.”
Aside from our first look at David Tennant, the teaser also gives us our clearest and longest look at Jessica’s actual face. It’s interesting, also, that while Jessica is looking at the collage of photographs she’s created, that there’s a purple glow that’s present on parts of her face and hair – significant of her torment at the hands of The Purple Man.
All episodes of Marvel’s Jessica Jones will be available to stream on November 20, 2015.
