Marvel Geek Holiday Gift Guide

For many today is officially the start of the holiday season. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or the Winter Solstice, we at the Marvel Report are sharing some gift options for the Marvel fan in your life (or maybe use as inspiration for your own wish list).

1. “Color Your Own Age of Ultron”

Marvel. Coloring. Book. What else do you need to know?

These beautiful black and white images from the comics can now be decorated however your heart desires. The best part? The books can be found anywhere from Target to Barnes and Noble to Amazon with prices under $10. The Daily Dot also reports that 2 more books, “Color Your Own Little Marvel” and “Color Your Own Civil War” will be released later in the year.

2. Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 2 Collection

This is the ultimate must have for any Marvel fan. It contains Blu-ray 3D, regular Blu-ray, and digital copies of all six phase 2 films as well as an exclusive bonus content disk…all in special collectable packing. But that’s not all! Also included: Avengers and S.T.R.I.K.E uniform patches, a replica Tony Stark tattoo from Iron Man 3, a gold-foiled page from the book of the Dark Elves, and MUCH. MORE.

The limited edition set officially goes on sale on December 8th, but can be pre-ordered from Amazon now. It is currently $199.99.

3. Marvel Avengers Earrings 4 Pair

Looking for something a little more affordable? Then look no further. I am OBSESSED with these adorable earrings that I received as a gift a few years ago. They’re perfect for movie releases, Cons, or as an everyday way to wear your Marvel pride.

And it’s only $7.87 for the set of 4 at Hot Topic (which is one of the best places for fandom clothing/accessories).

4. Groot Dancing Cookie Jar

You’ll be “Hooked on a Feeling” of happiness year ’round with everyone’s favorite dancing tree in your kitchen! This adorable cookie jar features baby Groot on its lid as seen at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy. While it admittedly does not hold many cookies, it is a sweet addition to any home.

It can be found on the Superhero Stuff website (which also has TONS of other stuff) for $34.99.

5. Comic Compilations

It is a wonderful time to be a comics fan because there are SO MANY different titles to choose from. But it can also be overwhelming. Busy schedules and the price of buying a comic book every week can add up which is why the holidays are a perfect time for comic compilations! Time off from work plus having all the issues in one book provides plenty of time to catch up with your favorite heroes. Consider getting your Marvel fan ready for two major movies this year with Civil War by Mark Millar, Steve McNiven, and Dexter Vines or Star Wars (2015) by Jason Aaron.

6. Marvel Art

What better to decorate any space than with Marvel art? There are TONS of amazing artists, from fans to professionals, and many, many places to find just what you are looking for.

The shop at the official Marvel website has some pretty impressive special edition posters. This one featuring Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird from Agents of SHIELD is $49.95.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ''One Door Closes'' Print

One of my personal favorite pieces of Marvel art is the “Origin” series by The Ninja Bot. It is $5 for postcard size or $25 for a larger print and they have (most) of the Avengers (including Spider Man).

Red Room - product images

Super Emo Friends” by JSalvador I originally saw in a tweet from Agent Carter executive producer Tara Butters and immediately fell in love. The Peggy Carter poster from the tweet is $15 on etsy.

7. Marvel Legos

Legos…assemble! Legos are the perfect gift for a Marvel loving kid or the kid in all of us. There are so many different locations and scenes to build from the Hydra Fortress to the Daily Bugle building. While some of these sets can get a little pricey, the Ant Man set pictured above is $19.99 from Toys R Us and features Scott Lang and his trusty steed Antony (RIP).

8. Risk: Marvel Cinematic Universe Board Game

Risk -the board game that lets you take over the world- now lets you take over the MCU? Where do I send my money? This board game comes with not only Risk, but also a Guardians of the Galaxy card and dice game on the other side. The hardest part will be choosing between playing as Captain America, Winter Soldier, Iron Man, Ultron, or Thor.

The game can be found for less than $50 many places including Toys R Us and Amazon.

9. Statues

I know about statues because a certain Captain America cosplaying Marvel Report retweets Sideshow Collectibles often. If you really really want to make someone’s year surprise them with one of their awesome, accurate, scaled models inspired by both the comics and films. They even have life sized ones!

The Iron Man Mark III (Stealth Mode Version) pictured is $309.99. They have many, many other characters as well.

10. Hydra Glow in the Dark Top

Hydra Glow-In-The-Dark Ladies' Tank Top

There are many great Marvel shirts. Too many in fact. There are not enough days of the week to wear them all. (Remember all those awesome Agent Carter shirts from earlier this year??) This shirt gets a special shout out because of its playful use of glow in the dark and because it involves two of my very favorite agencies. It comes in men’s, women’s, and plus size all $19.99 from Thinkgeek.

Geek fashion can also be found at Tee Public, Her Universe, and WeLoveFine. Anything from one of these sites would make a great gift (hint hint mom and dad).

Happy shopping!
