Marvel and ABC have announced today that Marvel’s Captain America: 75 Heroic Years will air on Tuesday January 19 at 8pm. The television special will lead into the season two premiere of Agent Carter at 9pm.
The show will cover the history of Steve Rogers / Captain America from his first comic book in 1941 through his present place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and likely the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie.
Family members of co-creators Joe Simon and Jack Kirby will be interviewed as well as Stan Lee, Joe Quesada, Jeph Loeb and Lois D’Esposito (Marvel) and actors Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen and Chloe Bennet. It will surely be fun to hear what Clark Gregg has to say about Cap, based on his on screen love for the character.
In addition to the television special, Marvel also said that an exclusive announcement from Marvel Comics will be unveiled during the show.
It’s the perfect lead-in to the two hour premiere of Agent Carter. Stay tuned to The Marvel Report for some very special news regarding the premiere itself.
