Top Marvel TV Moments of 2015

As 2015 draws to a close, we are gathering up all of our favorite Marvel moments of the year! Considering Marvel not only released two very successful films — AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, ANT-MAN — and three new, amazing television shows — AGENT CARTER, DAREDEVIL, JESSICA JONES — it’s only obvious that we celebrate all the things we loved about this Marvel-ous year! This list is dedicated to all of the great Marvel TV moments of 2015.

TOP MARVELTV MOMENTS OF 2015

“This year has been a fairly fun one with the rise of the Inhumans in AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES both brought out what I love about Marvel with the darker aspects of the universe. And the start of what might possibly be a really fun GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY cartoon. 2015 was a great year to be a Marvel fan for me at least and I can’t wait to see what 2016 holds.” – Chris Carpenter @SnarkyShawn

DAREDEVIL SEASON 1

“While there was an incredible amount of anticipation for the new Marvel films AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and ANT-MAN in 2015, neither movie proved to as great a cinematic experience as the stories told on DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES, Marvel’s two Netflix series. Even though Marvel Television is nothing entirely new (AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. debuted back in 2013, and AGENT CARTER, which I also loved, kicked off its first season this past January), the Netflix platform allowed for the studio and its creative teams to explore deeper and darker topics through the journeys of Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones, and both shows proved to be more epic than any superhero adventure on the big screen in 2015. DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES have ushered in a more mature and engrossing form of Marvel programming, and binge-watching both of these two series was definitely one of the best and most rewarding viewing experiences I had all year.”

DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES – as someone is a passionate comic book fan and who work, daily covers about television, it’s always a blast when you see shows like those two come to life. Not only were they epic comic book adaptations, but genuinely entertaining shows to follow.”
– Andy Behbakht @AndyBehbakht

“I’d say the best thing Marvel did in 2015 were its releases with Netflix. Both DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES are gritty, captivating, and emotional properties and are welcomed additions to the ever-evolving MCU. With these shows (and the ones to come), Marvel is showing us that the “superhero” genre is much more diverse, inclusive, and not as typical as some have said in the past.”

JESSICA JONES SEASON 1

“Marvel really cranked it up a notch this year with JESSICA JONES! Instead of going the normal superhero route, they presented her as a regular women with issues we can all relate to. Well done!”
– Michelle Jenkins @YourFriendElle

JESSICA JONES was a masterpiece. I was on the edge of my seat with every episode, and JESSICA JONES was the rare occasion where I will say the TV show was better than the comic. I really hope we get a season 2 soon!”
– Kathryn Calamia @ComicUno

“Despite some setbacks and changes, I’ve been pretty happy with everything Marvel has delivered in 2015. On the cinematic side of the business, the Netflix shows kicked things off with a big bang giving us two phenomenal seasons from both DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES. The characters and stories that the shows covered were extremely interesting, important and impactful.”

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. SEASON 3

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. had its best season yet! It has been great to see the show explore their Inhuman storyline even farther, and characters like Fitz and Simmons gain some much needed spotlight. ‘4,722 Hours’ is still one of the best episodes of 2015.”
– Kathryn Calamia @ComicUno

“Even AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. had its best season yet and was able to consistently deliver a great story while further developing the characters on the show.”
– Blaise Hopkins @BlaiseHopkins

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. gave me Inhuman feelings.”
– Sam Bell @HailHydra94

AGENT CARTER SEASON 1

“Out of all the Marvel TV properties I loved and enjoyed watching this year, nothing came close to impacting my heart and my life like AGENT CARTER Peggy Carter literally changed my life this year. Not only did I help spearhead a podcast and fandom dedicated to Peggy, but her motto ‘I Know My Value’ spawned a movement of men and women choosing to know and respect their value. Hayley Atwell, James D’Arcy, Tara Butters and Jose Molina all impacted me this year with their acting, their writing, their producing — and their kindness. Peggy has changed me forever, and for that I am grateful.”
– Lauren Gallaway @LaurenGallaway

AGENT CARTER came at a time in my life when I needed to be reminded that I can live on after losing the two people I love most in this world, my parents, in the last five years. I related with Peggy in her loss for Steve Rogers. And when Edwin Jarvis told her that she didn’t need to be alone, but could let people help her, well, I related with that more than a little bit, too. Great acting, stellar writing, and a comedic chemistry between Hayley Atwell and James D’Arcy that harken back to Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg, aka Mr. Steed and Emma Peel–of the British AVENGERS–but with a twist. Therapeutic and enjoyable!” – Jennifer Redelle Carey @JenniferRCarey

CLOSING THOUGHTS

“On the small screen we saw AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. evolve from a fun show to a great show right before our eyes. Hayley Atwell also graced television sets with her presence for eight weeks last Winter, and Agent Peggy Carter became the first character to transcend their comic book counterpart. Marvel TV teamed up with Netflix to show fans a darker side with DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES exceeding everyone’s expectations. On the animation front the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY cartoon has been able to capture what fans loved about the movie and release it on a weekly basis.”
– John Ernenputsch @JPooch21

“As much as I liked AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and ANT-MAN, 2015 was the year Marvel shined on TV. AGENTS OF  S.H.I.E.L.D. upped their game with the Inhumans, Peggy Carter went adventuring on her own in AGENT CARTER, and DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES opened up the darker side of the MCU on Netflix, with both earning critical acclaim. If you’re a Marvel fan, there was almost certainly something to your liking on the small screen this year.”
