XMen Apocalypse movie trailer

Director Bryan Singer has been teasing the trailer for quite some time now, and it had previously been announced that it would be shown with Star Wars:  The Force Awakens which opens next week.

The film’s synopsis:  “Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

Apocalypse of course was teased on the end credits scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past.  Here is an explanation of that scene by Clevver Movies.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016 and stars Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Lucas Till as Havok and newcomers Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Lana Condor as Jubilee. Oscar Isaac will be the film’s villain Apocalypse.
