As we now know Finn Jones from Game of Thrones will be playing Danny Rand AKA Iron Fist in the upcoming Netflix series. Dexter’s Showrunner Scott Buck will be heading the series as Executive Producer and Showrunner. It was also reported that the Marvel character Shang-Chi may also be appearing in the series.
For awhile now there have been rumors circling around about Iron Fist showing up in season 1 of Luke Cage. Recently Heroic Hollywood’s Umberto Gonzalez appeared on Collider Heroes and revealed that Jones will actually be appearing in Luke Cage. Here is what he revealed:
“Yes he is [when talking about if Iron Fist is actually showing up in Luke Cage or not], in episode 13. That’s why he was announced, because otherwise it would have leaked.”
Episode 13 will be the season finale of Luke Cage, which makes a lot of sense since Iron Fist will be the show that follows Luke Cage. This means that Danny won’t be in a role similar to that of Luke Cage’s was in Jessica Jones. For the full video, check it out below.
In case you have missed it: the official series synopsis from Marvel Entertainment about the series on Netflix:
“Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
“Marvel’s Iron Fist” is the fourth series as part of an overall deal between Marvel Television and Netflix, which has already released the critically-acclaimed first seasons of “Marvel’s Daredevil” and “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” with “Marvel’s Luke Cage” premiering in 2016. All four heroes will then unite in the mini-series event “Marvel’s The Defenders.”
Marvel’s Iron Fist is expected to debut its first season sometime in 2017 on Netflix.
