Stephen Merchant & Richard E. Grant Join Wolverine 3

At this point, there is a lot of secrecy around the plot of Wolverine 3. Hugh Jackman has teased the Old Man Logan storyline as a possible adaption in the press, while casting for the James Mangold directed film has been in full swing the last couple months. Patrick Stewart is back as Professor X while Boyd Holdbrook has been cast as the major baddie – whose character is still unknown.

Here’s a couple of surprising names added to the casting list this week Richard E. Grant & Stephen Merchant. Don’t know these names? Well keep reading.

If you’re a fan of The Office, you have Stephen Merchant to thank. He co-created the British version of the show on which the NBC series was based and starred/directed in it as well. He’s also starred in the HBO series “Hello Ladies, I Give It A Year and other films. While he’s primarily done a lot of comedy in the past, this could be a different type of role for him but we don’t know yet!

We do know that Richard E. Grant will be playing a villainous mad-scientist character according to THR. Now you might brush that off as nothing, but if you haven’t seen him in Jekyll & Hyde or Doctor Who, get on it!

Directed by James Mangold from a script by David James Kelly, Wolverine 3 lands in theaters March 3, 2017.
