Deadline is reporting that Tessa Thompson (Creed) is in talks to make her MCU debut in Thor: Ragnarok.
Deadline is also reporting that their sources have said that Thompson will be portraying a character that is a “superhero,” and is slated to appear in other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well.
Tessa’s Costars
Thor: Ragnarok also stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Cate Blanchett. Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Jamie Alexander, and Anthony Hopkins are likely to reprise their roles, but have yet to be officially confirmed for the film. Natalie Portman is not likely to be featured in the film, since Ragnarok is rumored to take place almost entirely on Asgard.
What are you thoughts on Thompson’s casting in Thor’s next adventure? Who do you think she’ll be playing? One thing to note is that it’s exciting that Marvel is continuing to cast more and more actors of color into their feature films. With all of Marvel’s news today, it makes sense to hypothesize about what other films Thompson will appear in. Will Thompson’s character be one of the many characters rumored to appear in the Avengers: Infinity War two-parter.
Taika Waititi is directing Thor: Ragnarok, which is slated to premier on November 3, 2017.
