2016 marks the 75th anniversary of Captain America. Earlier this year Judy Stephens from Marvel reached out to cosplayers around the world who would be interested in being featured on the Marvel website as part of the celebration.
Captain America cosplayers responded and those who were chosen were asked to include photo(s) and a paragraph discussing what Captain America means to them, why they choose to cosplay as the character, etc.
Beginning on July 4th (Steve Rogers’ birthday) Marvel started sharing one cosplayer photo per day, beginning with this gorgeous photo of cosplayer Jay Tallsquall (photo by Martin Schiff):
Here is a direct link to the article, with all of the cosplayers that are currently featured: Celebrating an Avengers Icon – 75 Years of Captain America.
So far there are three cosplayers, and it appears that one will be added each day until all 75 have been shown. Check back often as the gallery continues to grow.
We can’t wait to see all of the amazing cosplays that fans have shared to celebrate Captain America’s 75th anniversary!
