SDCC 2016: Captain America Statue Revealed

SDCC is finally here Marvel fans! To kick off the annual event and commemorate Captain America’s 75th anniversary, they have officially revealed the 13-foot tall bronze Captain America statue, in partnership with Comicave Studios that initially hit news sites a couple weeks ago.

Those attending SDCC this week, stop by Marvel’s booth (#2329) and you can take pictures with it. In addition, a tie-in comic will also be  available at SDCC and special Captain America events in the future.

Not attending SDCC? Never fear! The statue will travel cross the country to Steve Rogers’ hometown of Brooklyn, NY – where it will be shown temporary in in Prospect Park for two weeks. A dedication ceremony & event will be held on August 10th from 1-3pm with a special screening of Captain America: Civil War being shown later that evening in Prospect Park. Try also following along the cross country journey by keeping an eye on Marvel’s social media profiles.

Following its stay in Prospect Park, the statue will move to the plaza of the Barclays Center in September. In October through the remainder of the year, the statue will also be shown at the atrium of the “Beyond” flagship location in Industry City which will open later this year.
