Empire magazine is giving readers the first big look at Doctor Strange.
The much anticipated November premiere of Doctor Strange is right around the corner! Naturally Marvel is ramping up their marketing campaign in a big way.
In addition to the covers, the magazine revealed some neat little tidbits about the upcoming film. Apparently Benedict Cumberbatch was the only actor who was considered for the role. According to the film’s director Scott Derrickson, Cumberbatch was “the only actor we seriously considered.” Of course they actively looked for other actors and even met with ” “a lot of good actors,” said the director. Ultimately the decision to bring Cumberbatch on board was left in Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige’s hands.
This cool Empire feature likely won’t be the last. As we get closer to the release date, we’ll be seeing a lot more of the Sorcerer Supreme.
Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.
Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016.
