Benedict Wong Confirms Infinity War Role

British actor Benedict Wong (Marco Polo, The Martian) is set to play librarian, trainer, and master scholar Wong in Marvel’s next film Doctor Strange. While we already know that the Sorcerer Supreme himself, Benedict Cumberbatch would be appearing in Avengers Infinity War, we now have confirmation what Wong will be in the film as well.

While speaking with Comicbook.com, Wong shared that his Marvel journey would not begin and end with Doctor Strange, but that it would continue in the third Avengers film. Avengers Infinity War, which is being written and directed by the amazing quartet of Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, is set to open in theaters May 4, 2018. While no plot details for the film have been announced, it would seem that all currently living Marvel Cinematic Universe characters are on board to appear in the film or at least cameo.

Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.

Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016.
