As Marvel settles in for the Agents of SHIELD winter finale fans turn their attention to the soon-to-be revealed Inhumans. With all eyes on Marvel, The Hollywood Reporter has announced that they’ve tapped Dexter Graduate Scott Buck (currently working on Iron Fist) to helm the program.
Mr. Buck oversaw the final three seasons of the groundbreaking drama with reception for the finale being rather mixed. His other credits however include Six Feet Under, Rome, and Coach – major productions that make him perfectly prepared to handle the unique experiment of the straight-to-series ABC show.
The Inhumans are a group of super powered human beings whose origins tie into experimentation by the alien race the Kree – as seeing in Guardians of the Galaxy. The inhumans have made their home on Agents of SHIELD where they are represented by perennial fan favorite Agent Daisy Johnson who possesses the ability to create vibrations.
From comic book to screen, the transition for the inhumans hasn’t been an easy one but Marvel’s movement on the property signifies something new for the MCU. A race of mutant individuals much like their X-men counterparts for audiences to fall in love with and teach them to embrace just what’s special inside.
Fans of Marvel Television might recall that Marvel will be looking to launch the series in a 2 hour event available at multiple locations around the world. With a premiere date in September, the inhumans has sparked a great deal of concern, with Iron Fist under his belt, Mr. Buck seems more then ready to tackle the task of bringing the characters to the big screen.
The Inhumans marks Marvel’s 3rd collaboration with ABC after Agents of SHIELD and the much-missed Agent Carter. You can catch the current line up of Inhumans every Tuesday on ABC at 10 with Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.
