Sentinels In Fox’s Untitled X-Men Series

Sentinels are in Fox’s untitled X-Men series, after making their cinematic debut in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. The Sentinels most likely will play a key role in the untitled X-Men series.

One of the producers of Fox’s upcoming X-Men series, Lauren Shuler Donner, sat down with IGN in an interview. While he mainly answered questions about Legion, Donner also told IGN that Legion will not be a part of the X-Men franchise. IGN followed up with this question:

IGN: Why go that route? Particularly because Matt Nix said his FOX X-Men project is a part of that world?

Donner: Matt’s is much more a part of just the world in terms of there are mutants, mutants are hated and there are Sentinels — though very different from what we’ve seen before. You feel like you’re here in the X-Men world. With Legion, we’re our own universe. It gives Noah the freedom to do what he wants to do. Because we play with so many different timelines, and we rebooted and not really rebooted and all that, we felt like, OK, we’re going to throw it out there and hope the fans accept it.

We’re looking forward to see how the untitled X-Men series ties into the films other than the involvement of sentinels.

There hasn’t been an official synopsis released from Fox about the series. However, the rumored synopsis involves parents trying to protect their mutant child from the government. With the confirmation that sentinels are involved in the series, we don’t think the rumored synopsis is far fetched.

As always, we will continue to update on the untitled X-Men series and all things Marvel.
