Michael Douglas confirmed that he’d be returning to the Ant-Man franchise, in the sequel Ant-Man And The Wasp. He posted a photo on his Facebook with the confirmation.
Michael Douglas played Hank Pym in Ant-Man, who in the history within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the first Ant-Man who has been retired and is handing off the mantle to Scott Lang (Paul Rudd).
In an interview with Yahoo UK, Michael spoke about his role in the first film, and what he hopes to do, if he were to return for a sequel.
Paul and Adam (McKay’s) re-write bought a lot more humor. I accused Paul of bringing a lot more humor to his character! Michael Pena can take care of himself. I on the other hand was left giving the exposition and the plot, which I was happy to do. In the next one I hope things get a little more bizarre.
Hopefully, Michael gets his wish, and he’ll get to do more bizarre things! Who knows, maybe he’ll get to suit up for a bit. One can wish at least!
With production kicking off for Ant-Man And The Wasp in July, more information regarding the synopsis and rest of the cast will be announced in the coming months. However, we do know that Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Pena are all reprising their roles from Ant-Man.
