Full Cast For The Inhumans Revealed

News about The Inhumans is traveling fast.  Marvel’s announcement that the inhuman royal family would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe has left fans curious and excited.  This week Marvel announced Anson Mounts will be playing Black Bolt, Serinda Swan will be playing his Queen Medusa, Kevin Leung will be playing Karnak, and Iwan Rheon will join the series as Maximus the Mad– brother of Black Bolt.  The rest of the cast had yet to be announced however; from Crystal – sister to Medusa, to Gorgon and Triton, members of Black Bolt’s family.  Marvel released an update on the cast list and who’ll be playing these characters

Eme Ikwuakor joins as Gorgon.  The former Concussion star will be playing the cousin of Black Bolt. An inhuman with hooves for legs that can generate powerful seismic activity, Gorgon is leader of Attlian’s military. His character is described as follows:

“Gorgon, cousin of Black Bolt – member of the Royal family, and leader of Attilan’s military. With super strong legs, complete with hooves, he can generate destructive seismic waves with a single stomp. The ying to his cousin Karnak’s (Ken Leung) yang, Gorgon would rather fight than talk to solve his problems.

Isabelle Cornish joins the series as Crystal, sister to Queen Medusa.  The inhuman is a comics fan favorite, as she has a relationship with the Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm in the original 1960s comics.  A manipulator of the elements, Crystal is “Impetuous and Independent.”

Crystal is the youngest member of the royal family and has the ability to control the elements. Impetuous and independent she is also deeply devoted to her family.

Mike Moh is the third character to be added.  His role as Triton means that he’ll be spending a lot of time under the water, and the former Empire star has a charismatic presence set to add a lot to the inhuman court.  Triton is another cousin of black bolt and fiercely loyal to his family.

Triton, Black Bolt’s cousin – he’s calm under pressure and supremely athletic. His gift is his fish—like ability to live underwater.

The cast is rounded out with Sonya Balmores and Ellen Wolgam of Beyond the Break and Californication fame respectively.  Bamores will be playing Auran, head of the royal guards of Attlian.  She’s described as fiercely loyal to Black Bolt.  Wolgam’s mystery character is very interesting.  Check out her character description below:

Woglom’s mystery character – smart, intense, and focused—so focused that oftentimes, social skills take a back seat. Her job at a private aerospace company is her life, second only to her passion for all things space and lunar. She’s primed to be swept up in an adventure.”

It sounds as though Woglom’s character might end up either joining or journeying to the inhuman city.  With Agents of SHIELD setting up new inhumans – the opportunity to create others or “nuhumans” with abilities abounds.  She won’t be alone as fan favorite lockjaw will be joining the series as well.  Marvel confirmed that Crystal’s 2,000 pound teleporting dog companion will make his big screen debut.

Jeph Leob, head of Marvel Television and Executive producer is “thrilled” with these new additions.

“We’re thrilled with this cast. Eme, Isabelle, Mike, Sonya and Ellen round out an incredible array of talent that will finally bring the Royal Family of the Inhumans to IMAX and ABC”

Scott Buck, Iron Fist and Inhumans showrunner also offered praise for these new cast members.

“With Eme, Isabelle, Mike, Sonya and Ellen portraying the rest of our leading roles, we have a strong cast that is going to add tremendous depth to our Royal Family.”

The first two episodes of The Inhumans will be directed by Roel Reine, formerly of Starz’s Black Sails.  They’re set to premiere on September 17th in IMAX theaters around the world with the rest of the 8 episode series set to premiere on Tuesdays on ABC.  The Inhumans is just one of multiple television shows coming to TV with Hulu’s Runaways heading to production, Cloak and Dagger currently filming it’s pilot, and Iron Fist set to drop on Netflix March 17th.
