An enigmatic trailer titled “Midland Circle Security Elevator B,” was recently released by Netflix. At first glance, it looks to be a mundane elevator scene featuring unassuming passengers. But upon closer examination, one would notice the four to be the members of Marvel’s Defenders! They are Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Kristen Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and The Iron Fist (Finn Jones). Midland Circle, in the title, is a reference to Daredevil, and as told by EW, the location where the Defenders meet up unintentionally.
But that’s not even the best part! If you glance at the time running in the corner, when Jessica Jones stops the camera, the numbers remain on 08:18:20:17, or, August 18, 2017, seemingly giving us the Defender’s premiere date! Still not impressed? Well, maybe those tech savvy that know a thing or two about how to search websites without the use of URLs will be inclined to punch in that IP address on the screens top left corner into their address bar! Marco Ramirez is The Defender’s show runner and will serve as the executive producer along with Drew Goddard, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. The series will be eight episodes, of which the first two are to be directed by S.J. Clarkson (Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Dexter). Other characters returning from the other Marvel Netflix series’ will include Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Malcolm (Eka Darville), Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), Stick (Scott Glenn), Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick), Elektra (Elodie Yung), Trish Walker AKA Hellcat (Rachel Taylor), Misty Knight (Simone Missick) and Claire Temple AKA Night Nurse/White Tiger (Rosario Dawson). The antagonist of the series, currently known only by the name Alexandra, will be played by Sigourney Weaver.
