2. THE AMAZING SPIDER MAN SERIES

Sony has zealously guarded the rights to the Spider-Man universe.  After Raimi’s third film, Sony announced that the series would be rebooted with Andrew Garfield taking over Spider-Man’s web slingers. The Amazing Spider-Man focused more on Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and Peter’s high school beginnings. We saw Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans) become the Lizard at last (the character played a key role in the original trilogy, but never became a villain). Garfield also brought back the more humorous Spider-Man that we all knew and loved from the comics.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 brought us more villains, although that’s also where the problems began. While one might consider what Sony might have been trying to set up with its future films (after all there is a Venom movie in the works), it suffered from too many villains and not enough time.
