Following the film crossing $300M at the domestic box office earlier this week, Spider-Man: Homecoming has now swung into Japan and pushed past $700M globally. In it’s sixth weekend the domestic box office, the Marvel Studios & Sony film saw a small drop (-31%) and grossed an estimated $6.1M for a spectacular $306.4M total. Combining that with international grosses which are approaching the $400M mark, including a $7.1M opening day in Japan, pushes the global total to $702M.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently the fourth highest grossing film in the franchise domestically and sixth worldwide right below The Amazing Spider-Man 2. However, that won’t last long as the film will easily pass the $709M lifetime gross of that film sometime next week. Next up? The wallcrawler has China on deck and will open there on September 8th.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently in theaters.
