With production set to kick off early next year, Marvel Studios has set Geneva Robertson-Dworet to take over script writing duties for 2019’s Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson. The film, which will be directed by Half Nelson and Mississippi Grind duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, was initially set to be written by Meg LeFauve & Nicole Perlman. However, this is no longer the case as LeFauve had to leave the project to co-direct Gigantic for Disney. While adding a writer this late in the game might seem like cause for concern, it’s very likely just to polish job at this point.
Robertson-Dworet’s script credits include some major upcoming projects including the Tomb Raider reboot for MGM, Warner Bros. Suicide Squad spin-off Gotham City Sirens as well as the third installment in their Sherlock Holmes franchise.
