Just yesterday we learned that James Gunn is hard at work on the third installment in the Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise and expects that film to start production much sooner than we expected. However, after Thanos arrives in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, the Skrulls making their debut in Captain Marvel and the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, what’s does the future hold for the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, it seems that is already being actively worked on at the moment. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporer, Gunn stated the following regarding the matter.
“Those scripts are already in the works. Kevin [Feige] and I talk about it all the time, we just had a meeting today. Discussing what is the next iteration of cosmic characters and where are the characters that we’ve already created going to go in the next batch of films.”
What could these scripts that Gunn is referring to possibly be? Might we see the original Guardians team introduced in Vol. 2 get their own spin-off? Perhaps the introduction of the fan-favorite member of the Nova Corps Richard Rider? Or maybe they’ll ever go a bit more obscure with a character like Darkhawk? We likely won’t learn the answers to these questions for a few years but let us know what or who you would like to see in the comments section below.
