Lauren Shuler Donner Weighs In On The Possibility Of More X-Men TV Series

There seems to be no shortage of superhero television offerings currently. While they’re a bit later to the game, Fox hit the ground running with the hit series Legion. In a few months we’ll see what Matt Nix has in store with their second series The Gifted coming to Fox. But what about the future? Could we see even more mutants on television? Speaking with ComicBook.com, executive producer Lauren Shuler Donner commented on whether or not they had plans for any more X-Men television series in the works. The woman behind the franchise had the following to say on the subject.

“I don’t want to oversaturate, that’s the big fear. And because we’re now doing so many … spinoffs of the X-Men characters as movies, I think that’s best. I’m very happy with [Legion and The Gifted].”

It appears that for the time being Fox doesn’t have any plans for any other series. However, things are alwys changing. If The Gifted ends up being a hit like Legion was earlier this year, I think there’s a strong chance we’ll see some more mutants make their way to the small screen. But for the time being? Well, we’re just going to have to wait and see.

The Gifted debuts October 2nd on Fox.
