Fox’s The Gifted is only a short month away and today a new addition to the cast was announced. The show focuses on the suburban Strucker family lead by Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker whose lives are changed when they discover that their children (Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White) are mutants. To protect their children from the government the family goes on the run and joins up with members of the Mutant Underground along the way.
Originally announced by Deadline, Garret Dillahunt, will be joining the show’s cast in a recurring role for the first season. The actor will play Roderick Campbell, a “mutant researcher contracted by Sentinel Services” led by Coby Bell. The character is described as “professional, intense, and intimidating” and it’s promised that he has a “dubious mission yet to be revealed”. It seems like opposing side will continue to offer new and more terrifying threats for the Strucker family and their allies. Just what is Campbell’s “mysterious” mission? Does he have a comic counterpart beyond the hundreds of other evil doctors desperate to cause mutants pain? These questions need answers and hopefully, the show will provide them.
Dillahunt joins Elena Satine as the newest members of The Gifted cast. Fans of Dillahunt can catch the former Raising Hope star in TBS’ The Guest Book. He can also be seen in Hand of God on Amazon and the final season of The Mindy Project where he’ll play the recurring role of Jody Campbell Kinney. He is also appearing in theaters opposite Viola Davis in Steve McQueen’s Windows coming soon to theaters.
