Well, this is a nice piece of unexpected news. In addition to his role in the upcoming Ant-Man And The Wasp, where Laurence Fishburne will portray Bill Foster, it seems that the actor is also working on something “really cool” and secret for the company as well. While chatting with Collider, the actor commented on the project that he hopes will “change the world”. But there’s a very good chance that last part could have just been him joking around a bit.
“I’m developing something else for Marvel that I can’t talk about. It’s gonna be really cool. It’s gonna change the world, we hope (laughs). I went to Marvel and pitched them something that really couldn’t work out—there was a lot of legal red tape that just [was] something they couldn’t work out. But then they came back with the offer for Ant-Man and the Wasp and then they said, ‘Hey, what do you think of this?’ and I went ‘Oh yeah that, yes!’ so…”
Could this be connected to Ant-Man And The Wasp? Perhaps one of the rumored One-Shots? We’re going to have to wait and see but there’s a lot of different things that he could be working on and it’s going to be interesting seeing what it ends up being. Fisburne also commented on his role in the sequel hitting theaters next year but couldn’t really say too much. You know, the Marvel Snipers and all that.
“All I can tell you is I’m playing Bill Foster, who was Hank Pym’s assistant. That’s how I enter into the world and I’m very excited. Peyton Reed is directing it, who directed the first one. It’s gonna be as fun and cool and smart as the first one.”
