We are less than a month away from the fifth season of Agents of SHIELD and thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have some new details on the upcoming season. EW revealed today that four new characters are joining the beloved Marvel spy drama when it returns for its fifth year. One of them was previously already announced as Jeff Ward was added a few months ago.
But back then, it wasn’t revealed who he would be playing on Agents of SHIELD. Thanks to EW, we know who Ward is playing as he’ll be portraying “Deke” who is described as “the ultimate survivor and roguish scavenger”. He is someone that can get people exactly what they need but at a big price. He is teased as a sharped minded and quick-witted man who ends up being a real asset while also being difficult to trust.
Eve Harlow is set to play “Tess” who is described as a resourceful woman who strives to be self-sufficient in “very desperate circumstance”. She hangs on to her hopes for a better future herself and the people in her life. Harlow’s character is also described as someone who is “living proof that even in the toughest of times, good people will still fight for each other.”
Then we have Coy Stewart who will play “Flint” who was a young man that had to grow up fast in a harsh environment. The character is based on a Marvel character from the Inhumans comic books as he has the ability to control rock and stone. Despite his tough childhood, Flint continues to make something of himself.
Last, but not least is Taylor Vince who will play “Grill”, a gruff taskmaster who is “lording over those under his command with an unforgiving temperament.” Grill is described as a man who doesn’t fall for any illusions about the world he is in. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns for its fifth exciting season. Agent Coulson and the team escaped LMD Aida’s Framework and awakened in the real world. As they come in contact with some of the vessel’s inhabitants, it becomes abundantly clear that something has gone terribly awry, and the team will need to figure out their role and delve deeper into this nightmarish mystery to try to right what has gone incredibly wrong.”
Agents of SHIELD Season 5 is set to premiere on Friday, December 1 with a special two-hour premiere at 8 PM on ABC.
