Marvel has announced several new cast members for the second season of The Punisher starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. Floriana Lima (Supergirl), Josh Stewart (The Dark Knight Rises), and Giorgia Whigham (Scream) have been cast as Krista Dumont, John Pilgrim, and Amy Bendix respectively. Marvel TV and Netflix describe their characters as follows:
“Krista Dumont: a smart, compassionate, and driven psychotherapist for military veterans.
John Pilgrim: a man whose calm exterior belies a ruthless interior. Despite having left behind a life of violence, circumstances will force him to use his old skills and bring him into Frank Castle’s world.
Amy Bendix: a street-smart grifter with a mysterious past.”
These roles are all series regulars as well as original characters created specifically for the show. Marvel TV President Jeph Loeb and Punisher showrunner Steve Lightfoot said the following about the trio joining Season 2.
LOEB: “Josh, Floriana and Giorgia are all remarkable talents and we can’t wait for the audience to see what we have in store for them in the second season of Marvel’s The Punisher”
LIGHTFOOT: “We are incredibly excited to have Josh, Floriana and Giorgia joining the cast of Marvel’s The Punisher and seeing them bring their talents to the next chapter in the Frank Castle story.”
Season 2 is reportedly set to start production sometime this spring and will come out on Netflix in 2019. The show stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, and Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle.
