Seasons 2 & 3
2×1: Shadows
Michael Onstott
I’d like to say which Agents Of Shield episode is my favorite and why it’s my favorite episode. Agents Of Shield is wonderful but the episode for me is “Shadows”. It is the Season Two premiere episode … What an episode. It quickly brought us up to speed on what the norm was during the time from the downfall of Garrett to the time where Shield is still alive but kinda on life support and they have Ward in the basement in a room with a force field. Our lovable group gained new people and lost some just as quickly. Not to mention, we find out that Simmons, one half of Fitz-Simmons mind you, has not been at Shield HQ for some time, including the duration of the episode. When I learned that, I – My – How could – And so on. That was the clincher for me. Absolutely shocked. If I didn’t watch that episode myself, I wouldn’t have believed it. That episode sold me on the idea that Fitz was damaged, but still a genius, granted the fact that he would need time to get back to his former status. BTW, he has exceeded where he once was. Fitz was my favorite character before season 2, but it was “Shadows” that solidified him for me. That episode also made me realize that they would need help fighting the good fight. That’s when I came up with my own superhero, “Samurai Jessie”. If Marvel ever comes across SJ, I’d love for them to put SJ on “Agents Of Shield”. Sorry for the plug, but I really wish I could have a superhero on “AOS”. Anyway, that is why “Shadows” is my favorite “AOS” episode. They really do awesome work, especially Season Five.
2×11: Aftershocks
Beatriz
My name is Beatriz, I’m 26 and I’m from Alicante, Spain. I’ve watched Agents of SHIELD since the beginning and it soon became one of my favorite TV shows. There have been many moments I loved, but if I have to choose one, I guess my favorite is from the season two episode “Aftershocks”, when Skye hugs Fitz and he tells her she’s just different now and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Besides the beautiful writing and Chloe and Iain’s performances, I love the way Fitz accepted Skye just as she was and wanted to protect her, when everyone else would be scared of what she had become, even herself. Back then, I was sad because there seem to be no redemption for Ward, and I was disappointed at Simmons because she didn’t seem to love Fitz the same way he loved her (Luckily, she did love him). But after Fitz and Skye’s hug, I realized no matter what happened with the romantic ships, the friendships were more than enough reason to love the show.
2×12: Who You Really Are
Alyssa
It’s difficult to choose, but I think my favorite moment is when May protects Daisy- then Skye- from Sif in “Who You Really Are” (S02E12) because it’s an important moment of growth and strength for her after the events of Bahrain. Katya and her Inhuman abilities haunted May, but that didn’t stop her from doing what she had to do to keep Daisy safe, even if it meant facing an Asgardian. I think that moment really defines the idea that a mother will do anything for her daughter, even if Melinda and Daisy have yet to verbally acknowledge that their relationship is that way, and it’s a huge step in showing Melinda’s courage in the face of past experience.
