Updated 9/28/18:
ACE Comic Con is coming to Chicago just two weeks from today, and the show promises to bring a number of big names from the MCU and beyond. The show is three days, October 12-13-14 and will be located at beautiful Navy Pier on the glorious water front of Chicago.
Currently listed to appear on the Marvel side of things are:
- Chris Evans (Captain America)
- Tom Hiddleston (Loki)
- Karen Gillan (Nebula)
- Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch)
- Zazie Beetz (Domino)
- Lee Pace (Ronan the Accuser)
In addition to a number of Marvel actors, The Doctor is in – Matt Smith the 11th Doctor will be there as well as Satan himself Tom Ellis from the show Lucifer will be there along with a number of WWE stars. Unfortunately Josh Brolin had to cancel earlier this week, but we’re hoping that it isn’t too late for the convention to add another Marvel actor to the show.
This is the fourth ACE Comic Con show, which debuted in Long Island, NY and was followed by shows in Glendale, AZ and Seattle WA. The show is known for bringing a large slate of big name celebrities together for panels, photos and autographs.
According to the ACE Comic Con website, all of the photo ops appear to still be available (though we don’t recommend waiting) but autographs with Evans and Hiddleston appear to be sold out for the show. But keep an eye on the website, it’s always possible that more could be added later.
Something new that we noticed about this show, is that ACE is offering props with the photo ops. For $50 extra you can get a photo with Chris Evans holding a Captain America shield. While it does cost extra, I think this is a wonderful addition to the photo op experience and something we have never seen before.
If you’re new to celebrity photo ops, check out this handy convention photo op etiquette guide that we wrote awhile back: Proper Etiquette for Convention Photo Ops. We plan to get photos with Evans, Hiddleston and Olsen.
We already have our airfare and hotel booked, and can’t wait to attend ACE Comic Con’s Midwest show in Chicago. While the weather varies quite a lot in The Windy City, October is typically an absolutely beautiful time of the year to visit. But if you’re thinking of traveling to the show, be aware that now that the Cubs are in the playoffs, if they are still alive for the NLCS that weekend, hotels could get stupid expensive really fast.
We hope to see you there!
