New Warriors

Is New Warriors Showrunner Teasing Project Moving Forward In 2019?

It has been over a year since Freeform made the decision to pull New Warriors off the development slate for the 2018-2019 TV Season. While we have barely heard anything next to nothing, we have seen the cast members still hanging out, keeping hope alive that the project might still happen.

However, as far as finding the show a new home has yet to happen. But it would appear that perhaps something is coming up for the Squirrel Girl lead series. In a tweet AMA with fellow writer Shawn Madden, Kevin Biegel, showrunner and writer of the show, was asked if something is happening with the project. His answer? A couple of digits to spell it all out.

With the pilot season coming up, it would make sense for the series to pick up some steam and perhaps with an announcement of where it will land. With Disney+ launching next year, might that be an option for the comedy? Only time will tell.

“Marvel’s New Warriors” is about six young people with powers living and working together.  With powers and abilities on the opposite end of the spectrum of The Avengers, the New Warriors want to make a difference in the world… Even if the world isn’t ready.  Not quite super, not yet heroes, “Marvel’s New Warriors” is about that time in your life when you first enter adulthood and feel like you can do everything and nothing at once — except in this world, bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates.”
