Runaways Chase Alex

Runaways Season 2 Interviews: Rhenzy Feliz (Alex Wilder) and Gregg Sulkin (Chase Stein)

Gregg Sulkin (Chase Stein)

While none of the Runaways’ parents are Mom or Dad of The Year, Chase Stein’s father Victor might have been the worst of them all. Actor Gregg Sulkin says Chase will still deal with some after effects from that trauma.

“I think it’s always going to be in the back of his mind, and you know when things are in the back of your mind and you don’t deal with them properly they come to the front of the mind.”

Fortunately for Chase he finds a surrogate family with the other Runaways. Sulkin says the cast has cultivated a family-like relationship off-screen as well.

Me and Rhenzy are best friends. He’s like my brother, I love him. I think he’s grown so much. He’s a superstar in the making for sure.”

Of course that doesn’t mean their on-screen counterparts always get along.

“Alex and Chase will butt heads, but I think the one thing that Chase and Alex have to figure out is, you know, in life you don’t always love your colleagues and you have to figure out a way to work together.”

“Personalities clash, especially when you’re a teenager.”

Overall things have really clicked into place for the team and the actors.

“I think this season there are a few more emotional scenes, as an actor we’ve really been able to find our beats this season.”

While the production schedule is demanding, there is one thing that made things easier this season.

“And it also does help when you have a season behind you because you know how the special effects are, how they look on screen.”

All episodes of Season 2 of Runaways will be available on Hulu on December 21.
