Runaways Chase Alex

Runaways Season 2 Interviews: Rhenzy Feliz (Alex Wilder) and Gregg Sulkin (Chase Stein)

The Marvel Report had a chance to sit down with the cast of Marvel’s Runaways at New York Comic Con to talk about Season 2. Read on for highlights from our interviews with Rhenzy Feliz (Alex Wilder) and Gregg Sulkin (Chase Stein) and check out the videos for the full interviews.

Rhenzy Feliz (Alex Wilder)

Alex Wilder played by Rhenzy Feliz starts out as a loner in Season 1 before uniting that team. However, Feliz tells us Alex finds himself isolated once again in Season 2.

“In Season Two he’s hanging out a bit more around Darius. In a way the group sort of starts giving him these elbows, kind of pushing him down,  not making him feel great. And so naturally he sort of finds his own way and in doing so finds out more about himself.”

His relationship with Darius, an enemy from his father’s past, changes things for Alex dramatically.

“They started hanging out more because he needs the help in order to provide for the group and in doing so they kind of create this kinship where it’s not the same relationship that it was to begin with.”

“And so that kind of leads to other things and that is a domino effect on the rest of the season, good or bad.”

Not having powers is another thing that isolates Alex from the group, but Feliz thinks Alex’s “brain” powers are nothing to scoff at.

“My favorite part is probably seeing him get to use his brain because that’s his power, that’s his use to the group so when you get to see that on full display, and you’ll definitely get to see him much more in the second season, that’s so much fun to play out.”

And although Nico is no longer interested in him romantically, there’s still some friendship left.

“I think it’s weird when the girl you love is living upstairs with the girl she’s now into, but I think he also respects that. He understands and doesn’t try and jump his way back into a relationship.”

“It’s going to be awkward for a bit for sure, but at the same time you know they’re sort of this family. They have to come together, they are all they have.”
