As a part of this event, the Walt Disney Company also announced it will give a $1.5 million grant to support the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), which helps minority students access and move to and through college.

“Black Panther is groundbreaking for many reasons, including the rich diversity of voices behind its success,” said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, in a statement.

“The story also showcases the power of knowledge to change the world for the better, and the importance of ensuring everyone has access to it.”

The film is currently competing for Best Picture for the Oscars among several other categories and recently won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Cast.

Want to see Black Panther on the big screen one more time but can’t make any of these screenings? AMC and Regal will also be screening the film as a part of their annual events recognizing the Academy Awards Best Picture nominees.B
