Oh Snap: New Agents of SHIELD Posters Are the New Infinity Stones

The Season 6 cast photos just dropped for Agents of SHIELD, but there is something oddly familiar about them. They seem to resemble the Infinity Stones. How can the team relate to their stone counterparts? SPOILERS ahead!

The Power Stone

Jeff Ward as Deke Shaw

We were last introduced to scavenger Deke Shaw in Season 5 of Agents of SHIELD. It was revealed that he was the grandson of Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz after he opened the White Monolith in the last stand against Kasius to send the team back to the present timeline and prevent the destruction of Earth. In the process, he unintentionally gets hit by a Monolith shard, sending him to the present as well to help the team. Now, why would Deke be shrouded in purple like the Power Stone? Much is still unknown about his backstory. For all we know, Deke could be as powerful as Daisy, regardless of his size.

The Space Stone

Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons

Out of all of the members of the SHIELD team, FitzSimmons have been through some of the most horrible things: brain damage, being eaten by an alien rock, being forced to be a Kree slave and being tossed to the bottom of the ocean, just to name a few. Most recently Jemma not only married Fitz, but also lost him in a span of a few days. How could their pictures relate to the Space Stone? In the Season 6 teaser trailer, it is hinted that Jemma and the team will be spending time trying to find Fitz in Cryo sleep. The ability of the Space Stone is to allow the user to teleport through Space. Jemma could create some sort of portal, or Fitz could wake from Cryo sleep, and find his way back to the team with help from Enoch, the Chronicon that helped the team escape. Either way, this stone in particular seems to fit FitzSimmons perfectly.

The Reality Stone

Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May

Melinda May has been dealt so many bad hands over the past five seasons, yet she managed to roll with the punches and always landed on top. Even being captured by the Kree with an injured leg didn’t stop her from saving the world. At the end of the Season five, she ended up retiring and staying with Coulson in his final days. May and the Reality Stone are similar in that they know the current point in time can be altered – case is point is May getting out of The Framework and back to the real world. The only difference this season is May’s reality of losing Coulson can’t be changed with the snap of a finger.
