Our final Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron interview focuses on Executive Producer of Marvel Animation, Cort Lane, the mind behind one of the best animated series that Marvel has produced. The executive producer premiered Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron at WonderCon 2019 and also shared that they were hard at work filming three new specials featuring all of the characters and introducing a new one.
Lane offered plenty of fun hints as to the future of Marvel Rising. He promised that there could potentially be more characters besides Riri Williams coming to Marvel Rising. (It remains to be seen if he was just referring to Shuri or if Marvel Rising has more surprises in store.) He teased everything from the future specials to the introduction of a new exciting villain like Ming-Na Wen’s Hala the accuser. He even teased a brand new pop song that would be applied to a villain, even though he didn’t give hints about who that new villain might be.
One of the best things about Marvel Rising however is Lane’s insistence on focusing the show on girls. The former Barbie producer went around the country and interviewed little girls, boys, and their parents about just what they wanted to see from Marvel’s premiere kids programming.
