Gamers Assemble! Marvel is no stranger to the video game world and this E3 they’ve shared something super special.
As a part of the Marvel and Square Enix partnership announced back in 2017, the company announced their new Marvel’s Avengers console game developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.
There’s a couple of very good and very unusual things about the upcoming Avengers game. First, the good:
According to Marvel, you can play as Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow and more. There will be customizable characters and regions at no additional cost, meaning you’ll get to explore many aspects of the Marvel universe.
From a more technical standpoint, the game will apparently be both single and multiplayer and won’t feature any loot boxes or pay to win scenarios. There will be unique benefits to playing on PS4 including early Beta access.
Now for the unusual:
Many MCU fans were disappointed to see the characters in the game don’t resemble their MCU counterparts. Marvel and Square Enix have assembled an incredible cast of voice over professionals, however, and this allows them to build a shared video game universe.
The game is still in development and there are sure to be some changes made to the quality of gameplay compared to the trailer before the game is released. Could a connection with the popular Spider-Man PS4 game be far behind? Let the speculation begin!
Marvel’s Avengers will release simultaneously for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X, Stadia, and PC on May 15, 2020.
